Halloween Village
My one great passion and it's back.
The Start
One day the family is going through the Mall of America and see a Department 56 store and decide to take a look. In there they had so many different "villages", but mainly Christmas. Not sure of the time of the year we were there, but I have always been a Halloween fan and so it was decided to get a Halloween starter/beginner set.  |

Gets Bigger Each Year
Since the first year, it became a obsession to get something new each year. The boys loved going to the stores (PJ's Collectibles, Fleet Farm, or Menards) to pick out several new items. Putting it together was difficult and took many days, but I always did it myself and when finished always felt a sense of accomplishment. The biggest part was sharing it with others and seeing the look when they would see the entire village built. |

And It's Gone
With the divorce, I didn't take care to express my desires for things that I acquired during the marriage and the Halloween Village was taken to her house and from what I understand it never was touched. Halloween just didn't feel the same anymore. It's like a piece of me was taken away.
And It's Back
One day Adam texts me that he was bringing over the Halloween village stuff. Not sure who said something or if they were just having to make space. All I know I was excited to finally be able to once again set up the village. I didn't know how much of the last village I was getting and to my surprise I would say I got about 90% of what I owned back. She kept the very first building and I didn't get some stuff that I used to put in my village but didn't buy it.

2025
With time to prepare and having everything from the previous year, 2025's setup was the largest yet. I added an extra table and used a total of 10 power strips, but like all the years before I had it setup that one switch turned the entire village on.
