Land Speed Record
Ever since I was young, I was facinated by the attempts at the Land Speed Record (LSR) and especially Craig Breedlove and the Spirit of America jet cars. I read many books through High School on the subject and have continued to show interest with more books and have bought a couple of diecast models.Jet Engines
The modern attempts at the Land Speed Record have used jet engines as power sources and may have been the reason I joined the US Air Force as a jet engine mechanic. As a former "jet mech", the use of these engines now has a special meaning for me and I hope that someone will continue to make attempts at the record.
